Over the last few years we’ve heard that Active Directory is still sticking around as evidenced by Windows server 2022 but it’s mainly for companies who still need to maintain on premise applications and an on premise workforce. They say it’s still used the way it has always been used since Small Business server.

I call bull on this. With the disruption of Covid few companies have decided to maintain 100% local networks and IT has adjusted rapidly.

Many companies around the world have been able to migrate away from Active Directory domain controllers with RMM solutions. However Active Directory servers are still a majority of servers because multi-millions of computers are connected to AD servers. CIOs have often opted out of doing away with their AD servers and instead they’ve found various ways that the servers can remotely accessed.

TrueStack has created the TrueStack server 2.0 specifically to address this problem. Instead of dealing with site-to-site VPNs, RMM solutions or AD sync solutions why not instead install a TrueStack server alongside your Active Directory servers and allow your end-user computers to be managed wherever they are. Even better, use the TrueStack server to migrate your Windows AD server to a cloud platform of your choice and point your computers to the new, and hopefully upgraded, Windows server.

Our customers use TrueStack all over the world to do exactly this. They can manage their end-user devices with powershell, AD and their server based databases wherever the devices are and the users can access the servers from wherever they are. This saves on subscription fees and Windows licenses fees because most platforms use Windows datacenter which allows unlimited AD connections at no additional cost.

TrueStack also believes in the power of unlimited, which is next to impossible when you don’t have control over the hardware and networks that run the servers on your RMM subscription. When you need more space or processing power you’re at the mercy of the RMM host. You can ask, plead and beg for more power and you will throw more money at it, but if you use AD to manage your computers and you manage your own TrueStack server then you can easily increase processing power and storage on your own cloud platform or on premise network.

Try the TrueStack server today. Launch!
